Alice
The purpose of the project is to upgrade the existing Alice Taxi Rank into a multipurpose transport hub. The work to be implemented in this project is broken down into two. The first component is the construction of the taxi rank which is generally the concrete and brick under steel roof construction.
External works comprises of concrete brick paving, in-situ concrete paving, premix overlaid roads, retaining walls, storm water, water reticulation and electrical lighting. The second component is the renovation and extension of the building located on site.
The project commenced in October 2017. The project was anticipated to be completed in July 2018, which meant a contract period for the project of 9 months. Due to delays on the project an extension of time claim was approved up until October 2018. This therefore extended the project by 3 ½ months, increasing the project contract period to 12 months.
The project reached Practical Completion on the 14th of December 2018 and was launched in April 2019.
