Facilitation of Stakeholder Engagement Session: Alice Regeneration Programme

Aspire, registered as the Amathole Economic Development Agency, is a SOC limited company established in September 2005 and is wholly owned by the Amathole District Municipality, and subject to the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA). Aspire’s vision is to be a pioneer in the stimulation of spatial economic development. We are positioned as a “trusted advisor, stimulator and partner in the regional economic environment” and our mission is to stimulate locality development, with the objective of regenerating small town economies. We believe that the regeneration of decaying small towns will enhance their ability to contribute to the economy of the Amathole Region, and will improve the quality of life of its residents.

Aspire hereby invites proposals from suitable individuals and/or organizations to assist facilitation, documentation of proceedings and preparation of a comprehensive report for the Alice Regeneration Programme stakeholder engagement session planned for the last week of February 2012.

This session will provide a forum whereby key partners and experts can meaningfully contribute towards the vision and themes identified in the Alice regeneration programme, with a focus on integration of the town of Alice and the University of Fort Hare, soliciting creative and expert inputs for ensuring sustainability and informing policy development, as well as encouraging local investment, amongst others.
